The Civil Protection of the Lombardy Region has issued an orange weather alert for thunderstorm risks in Milan and other areas of Lombardy.
Today, Wednesday 12 June, in Milan the functional center for monitoring natural risks of the Lombardy Region issued the a moderate orange alert for risk of thunderstorms. A yellow alert has also been issued due to hydrogeological risk. Both will leave at 6pm today and will last until 6am tomorrow.
Precisely to prevent any problem, a meeting of the local crisis unit of the municipality of Milan has been convened in which the civil protection and interesting management will also participate. During the meeting the situations will be examined and the actions to be taken will be evaluated.
The Municipal Civil Protection Operations Center is therefore active to coordinate any interventions. During the weather warning, citizens are asked not to stay in the areas risk of river flooding and near underpasses. Furthermore, there is a risk of not parking under and near trees or near construction sites, terraces and tents.

It was also requested to secure objects and vases on balconies and all artefacts that can be moved.
The yellow alert for hydrogeological risk will also be triggered in the Varesine Lakes and Pre-Alps, Lario and Western Pre-Alps, Orobie Bergamasche, Eastern Lakes and Pre-Alps, Central Plain, Eastern High Plain, Central-Eastern Low Plain. The orange warning for risk of thunderstorms is expected for the territories of Varesine Lakes and Prealps, Lario and Western Prealps, Orobie Bergamasche, Central Plain, Eastern High Plain, Western Lowland, Central Western Lowland, Central-Eastern Lowland and Lower Plain Oriental.
