New stage in the horrible story of violence that took place in April 2019 in a multimedia center in Fondi. Three local young people, with an expedient, had brought one of their peers with an autistic syndrome into the room and there they had repeatedly raped him, filming part of the scenes which they then sent on two chats. Following the family’s complaint to the Fondi police, that dramatic afternoon was reconstructed. The victim had been assisted by a psychotherapist during the transcription of the complaint.
After the start of the proceedings, two of the defendants had chosen alternative rites, while the third, Giovanni P., now twenty-five years old, opted for the ordinary rite. Yesterday morning, following the preliminary hearing before judge Giuseppe Molfese, it was decided to commit the boy to trial on charges of sexual assault aggravated by the victim’s health conditions. The trial will begin on May 6, 2025 before the second panel of the Court of Latina.
Attached to the case file are not only the story of the autistic boy, who claims to have trusted those he believed to be three of his friends, but also part of the chats on which the video of a sequence of the violence was released. Material collected by the Carabinieri on behalf of the Latina Prosecutor’s Office a few weeks after the violence which occurred in a center located in the heart of the city and which hosts a series of events but which on the day of the violence was only open for recreational activities and at that time it was practically empty.
For this reason, no other testimonies were found and the videos posted on the chats of a well-known social network represent the most important proof not only of the violence but also of the attitude of the three accused, who appear, in fact, aware of the crime they were committing and who did not it was not at all a joking joke as stated in the initial phase of the investigation.
