Many competitions for the Byzantine Archers in this second weekend of June.
Saturday 8 June in Novellara second stage of the “Quadrangular-Andrea Bertolino” competition dedicated only to youth classes and played on 36 arrows.
Excellent performance for Nicola BarlottiOL division, RM category, who breaks through the 300 point barrier and ranks first after 36 arrows with 319 (his personal best).
Thanks to the victory in qualifying, he won the bye for the quarterfinals, going directly to the semi-final, which he won 6-0, reaching the final for gold.
Final in which he prevailed 6-2 over Davide Bersani of Arcieri Re Bertoldo, winning the gold medalwho this time had to settle for the silver medal (Davide had won the gold in the first stage and Nicola the bronze).
Our masters instead were in Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata (TE) which hosted the fourth edition of the “Master Italian Cup”.
The archers, divided into age classes, battled starting on Saturday 8th where they shot the 72 qualifying arrows, at the end of which the class titles were awarded.
Yellow-red double for the AN division, class 60-64, where Simone Pizzi wins the title and the gold medal ranking first with a score of 613 (302+311), equaling his current personal best. Second place for Marcello Tozzola who wins the silver medal with a score of 596 (296+300).
Squat will try again in the afternoon withOL where he manages to keep up with his opponents and conquer the gold medal and the class title (60-64) with a score of 622 (303-319).
Fourth place for Angela Padovani, not in full form, with a score of 426 (172+254) AN class 55-59; 29th Giancarlo Casadio for OL, 60-64 with a score of 384 (170+214).
On Sunday, the best 20 in each category played the Grand Round, a progressive elimination competition: 12 arrows per archer, divided into 4 volleys of three arrows; the best 16 pass through, then the best 12, so on until we have 4 archers per category for the finals.
Simone Pizziafter the good performance on Saturday, does not concede anything to his opponents, dominating the ranking from the first to the last arrow and winning the gold medal and the overall title. Third Marcello Tozzola. Tozzola tries again in the afternoon with OL but comes one step away from the 4-way final, finishing 5th overall. 7th overall Angela Padovani AN 55-59.
The last competition field was that of the 08 Lupi company, which hosted the race typology Track in Lagoons of Sasso Marconi. A very technical field where Franco Zannini took third place with the longbow. Excellent scores and placings also in the recurve bow division, Cam category (male hunters) for Claudio Malavolta with 340 points and Stefano Brighi who achieved a good 270 on his competition debut.
