Multi-level car park; opening on Thursday 13 June

440 parking spaces on the three floors of the Via Dante car park, available from Thursday 13 June: the construction site which has caused so much controversy in recent years next to the station overpass has reached a standstill, even if the road system is still provisional at the moment on entry and exit. In addition to these parking spaces, there are also external parking spaces entering from via Dante. Initially the original project included only 2 floors but the Municipality chose to proceed immediately with the third to avoid the risk of never seeing it built again.

More spaces will be available for electric vehicles with the placement of charging stations. The spaces reserved for disabled people are located on the ground floor: 3 near the entrance on via Dante, 13 near the entrance on via della Vecchia Dogana.

Furthermore – the Municipality informs us – work will begin in July for the arrangement of the level car park (via Elda Fezzi), already used today, for another 90 spaces. An area next to the new car park is already used as a construction site and, for this reason, cannot be used for traffic.

As part of this project, RFI had already demolished the ruined building it owned, and an area was thus freed which can be valorised. Also by RFI, interventions were announced in the square of the bus station and at the railway station, such as, for example, the bicycle speed station.

The overall financing for the parking was equal to 3,250,000.00 euros divided as follows: 1,650,000.00 euros by the Region, 1,500,000.00 euros allocated by the Municipality and 100,000.00 by the Government.

While waiting for the completion of the level car park, the temporary road to access the car park is the entrance from via Dante and via della Vecchia Dogana (both allow access to the stalls reserved for disabled people) and the exit from via Elda Fezzi.
