From 6 to 9 June it was held in Grosseto the first phase of the National Football Championships reserved for Engineers, which was attended by a large delegation (over 40 members) from the Bergamo Engineers Association. The largely positive overall balance is accompanied by a chiaroscuro sporting one, which saw the 11-player team eliminated after the decisive 1-0 defeat in the final match against their colleagues from Cosenzawith a goal conceded in the 93rd minute.
An elimination that stings, considering that in the last two years the Bergamo team had achieved the Scudetto, Italian Cup and Super Cup. Positive notes, however, for the team of 8 players over 40, who gained the pass to the finals (again at Grosseto) from 5 to 8 September. In the three matches played, the team gained 7 points (first in the group), scoring 9 goals without conceding any. The Bergamo delegation, together with organizers and delegations from all over Italy, paid homage to Grosseto to Gianandrea Schiavi, a young engineer who died suddenly and was among the first promoters of the Orobic football teams.
