Fiumicino, 12 June 2024 – The city councilor Mauro Stasio was victim of an attack yesterday morning near his business in Fiumicino. During the incident, he reported ecchymosis and abrasions. The aggression she seems to be motivated from a different political affiliation.
“I would like to express my deepest solidarity and that of the Civic List that I represent, to the municipal councilor Mauro Stasio who, yesterday morning, suffered a cowardly attack near a commercial business in Fiumicino, suffering bruises and abrasions”. Renato Ursumando, coordinator of the Baccini Civic List, declared this in a note.
“It is unspeakable – goes on – that a representative of the citizens and of the highest institutional body of the City is the target of insults, threats and injuries by an individual who considers him guilty, apparently, exclusively of a different political affiliation.
It will be the competent authorities who will shed full light on a very serious episode which is not part of our culture and the traditions of a community that wants to continue to be open, united and respectful of everyone’s opinions.
I hope that all the representatives of the political forces, without partisan distinctions – concludes Ursumando – express solidarity with Mauro and a firm and unanimous condemnation of what happened. The political debate can never lead to violence and oppression.”
