TIVOLI – Music, Theater and Writing: end-of-year event at the “Orazio” school

“Recognize your identity while respecting yourself, others, the environment, the territory and legality”.

This was the guideline of Civic education project carried out this year by the pupils of the nursery, primary and lower secondary schools of“Tivoli V” comprehensive institute in Bagni di Tivoli.

The teachers of the Institute directed by Principal Francesca Pisani they followed a Learning Unit (UDA) of Civic Education, applying a “transversal” teaching which enhances the skills-based teaching.

Demonstrated skills in event of the end of the year held on Thursday 6 June at the Auditorium of the “Orazio” middle school, during which everyone gave the best of themselves and their hidden potential emerged thanks to the immense work carried out in the class groups by the teachers, who with passion and dedication support, guide and support the students throughout the year.

The educational activities planned and carried out in all classes/sections were many, original, interesting but above all very engaging for the students who benefited from teaching-learning through reality tasks, in which each individual student had the opportunity to implement his aptitudes, knowledge and skills already acquired.

A “laboratory” methodologytherefore, for active participation of students with the use of different expressive tools, play strategies and forms of self-evaluation.

To animate Thursday’s event and give away emotions those present were the students of the Lower Secondary School who were the protagonists of a concert which represents the flagship of the Ministerial Course in Musical Sections held during the year by the Piano teacher Pierluigi D’Amatoby the Guitar teacher Francesco Ciprianiby the Transverse Flute teacher Francesca Timperi and by the Trumpet master Arnaldo Granati.

Afterwards, they conquered the scene “little writers” of the fourth classes C, D, G of the “Tommaso Neri” elementary schoolprotagonists of the project “The story of Tivoli: Children tell their stories”of the teachers Gabriella Casarella And Claudia Marinelli.

In the auditorium the students were interviewed by the director of the online newspaper of the City of the North East Tiburno.Tv telling how, under the direction of the teachers, they created a book on the history of Tivoli, compatible with the programmatic lines of the disciplines foreseen for the fourth class.

The children produced a comic in Italian and English “Imagining a typical day at the Polesini cave in the Paleolithic/Neolithic and a project on the 2030 Agenda carried out in laboratory activities.

The project “The story of Tivoli: Children tell their stories”, created with a laboratory teaching based on the cooperative learning methodology, it involved all disciplines and all students.

The teaching process involved individual students, the small group, the class group and the three fourth class groups, each with its own diversified task to achieve a common job.

Each student, in such a work context, felt gratified and encouraged to get involved and give the best of themselves. As a result, interesting group relational dynamics were built for students and teachers. The “little writers” showed great interest in the study of the Tiburtino area.

“From the development of the project – explain the teachers – Two essential elements emerged:

• I study to know, I know to respect

• If we are united we can do a lot for ourselves, for others and for the environment.

At the basis of the teaching work, which gave birth to wonderful results, there was a weekly program for parallel classes which favored continuous and constant discussion between teachers and the valorisation of all the school staff, whose professionalism is a fundamental element to achieve the set objectives”.
