An important step forward towards a safer city: the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia has published the tender for the assignment of works to expand the city’s video surveillance system.
The intervention, called “Castellammare safe city: rationalization and implementation of video surveillance”, involves a total investment of approximately 1,300,000.00 euros.
With this new tender, the project started in the summer of 2023 with the installation of 40 cameras in the Historic Center is completed, thanks to an initial allocation of 320,000.00 euros. The newly contracted works will lead to the installation of a further 200 cameras, distributed throughout the municipal territory, for a total of 240 surveillance devices.
The objective of the municipal administration is to create a widespread and efficient video surveillance network, capable of deterring crimes and facilitating the control and repression activities of the police. The new cameras will be connected via fiber optics via trenches on roadways, ensuring stable and safe data transmission.
A concrete commitment to the safety of citizens
The expansion of the video surveillance system represents a concrete commitment on the part of the municipal administration for the safety of citizens. The cameras, positioned in strategic points of the city, will contribute to:
- Prevent crimes: the presence of cameras dissuades potential criminals from committing illicit acts.
- Monitor the territory: The images recorded by the cameras can be used to monitor traffic, identify suspicious people and reconstruct events in the event of accidents or crimes.
- Support law enforcement: law enforcement can use camera images to investigate crimes that have already occurred.
