LAWN. The center-left’s celebrations for the election as mayor of Ilaria Bugetti, it’s already time all councilors to imagine the council that will govern the city in the next five years.

Yesterday Bugetti received telephone congratulations from the national secretary Elly Schlein and the president of Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccinithen he made a few statements on TV in the streets and took off the phone to take a few days of rest after a campaign that was not long but intense and was preceded by weeks of tension to reach the candidacy.

The time needed to have a new council is not expected to be very short. In the meantime, however, we can begin to think about it. There will be nine councilors, probably five men and four women. Two boxes are already occupied: the deputy mayor Simone Faggi and the provincial secretary of the Democratic Party Marco Biagioni. Two others could be soon: the outgoing councilor Marco Sapia, in the Bugetti area, and the outgoing councilor Benedetta Squittieri, Dem area, record woman of preferences (1,203).

On the rest we can only make suppositions: the eligible candidates, in no particular order, are the head of the list Maria Logli, the outgoing president of the City Council Gabriele Alberti, the young Lorenzo Tinagli (also from the top of his 867 preferences), the regional spokesperson of the Democratic Party Diego Blasi. Enrico Romei (661 preferences in the Questa è Prato list) is also on the launch pad. Then we will have to deal with the requests of the allies. Both the M5S and the United Left will ask for a councilor. They could be Chiara Bartalini and Lorenzo Chiani respectively. Yesterday the different souls of the coalition began to meet to prepare the requests to be presented to Ilaria Bugetti at the beginning of next week. It will not be easy to put together all the pieces of the puzzle while respecting gender boundaries and the appetites of parties and currents.

In the meantime, it can be said that a city council emerges from the polls that is on average younger, less multi-ethnic, and where the young lions who took control of the Democratic Party two and a half years ago have a fair amount of weight.

They refer to the secretary Biagioni Maria Logli, Edoardo Carli, Aksel Fazio, Martina Cacciato, Derio Bacci, Matilde Rosati and Francesco Bellandi, many of whom are under 30. The reformists can count on Gabriele Alberti, Gianluca Coppini, Lorenzo Tinagli and Simone Mangani, as well as at Enrico Romei. Ilaria Bugetti’s loyalists are Marco Sapia, Martina Guerrini and the civic Rosanna Sciumbata. Then there is the aforementioned Squittieri from the Dem area, the civic Sandra Mugnaioni ex Demos and the independent Francesca Faggi.

In addition to deputy mayor Faggi, a guarantee of continuity with the Biffoni council, the reformists will ask for another department. The scheme of the council in the end could be the following: in addition to Faggi and Biagioni, two to the Schlein area, two directly appointed by the mayor, one to the reformists. Two remain to be assigned to allies or to find an internal balance within the Democratic Party. The birth will be long and may not be painless.
