With the final concert and the awards ceremony, the 15th edition of the music competition organized by the “Pia Baschiera – Arrigo Tallon” Foundation with the patronage of the Municipality of Pordenone, dedicated to the young musicians of Pordenone, concluded in the auditorium of the Student House of Pordenone and province. After the preliminary test, eight young finalists participated, divided this year into the “wind” and “piano” sections.

For the wind section, the victory was won by Agnese De Vito, from Sacile, while Carolina Barro, also from Sacile, won first prize in the piano section (both competing for the two-year period).

For the three-year period, the first prize was not awarded but the second prize ex-aequo, awarded to the pianists Pierluca Battistella from Pordenone and Amedeo Vittorio Fabris from Fiume Veneto.

New to this edition of the competition was the introduction of the “song presentation” prize. The competitor could introduce their performance with a comment regarding the music, the style or the suggestions evoked by the musical language in a free and personal way. The very young clarinetist Ilaria Biasutti, from Budoia, and Pierluca Battistella, who involved the audience with a personal presentation of Schumann’s “Carnival” of Vienna, stood out and obtained recognition. The other finalists of the competition were Giulia Bortolin, Livia Rosso and Anna Taiariol

The judging commission was made up of the masters Matteo Andri, Annamaria Domini, Piero Ricobello, Irene Pace, Gianni Della Libera and Fiorella Mattiuzzo, the latter two curators of the artistic and planning part. The winners were awarded the scholarships by the president of the Baschiera Tallon Foundation, Fulvia Mellina, according to the provisions of the person for whom the award was created, Pia Baschiera, a unique figure in the musical panorama of Pordenone, who left the family heritage in memory of herself and her husband Arrigo Tallon “for the ‘education of the young and the pastime of the elderly’.
