For the defense, Modena accelerates on Caldara

While waiting for the opening of the summer transfer campaign, scheduled for July 1st, the date on which the first official announcements will be made, the Serie B clubs are already moving in recent days. Among these obviously also Modena, with manager Catellani who wants to give Bisoli the necessary reinforcements to satisfy the game ideas of the Porretta coach. Among the many rumors that have been circulating in recent days, some are starting to take on concrete features. Now done for the striker Thomas Alberti leaving Fiorenzuola, in these hours there has been a decisive acceleration for the hiring of Mattia Caldara. The thirty-year-old defender, fresh from some rather troubled seasons on a physical level, has resolved the problems that have gripped him and Modena could really be the right place for a relaunch. Caldara, who will end his contract with Milan at the end of the month, would therefore arrive as a free agent at no cost: the main issue to be resolved will therefore be the salary, given that the player in the Rossoneri received emoluments that were quite distant from the philosophy of the Gialloblu management. It will be a matter of finding the right balance between the player’s requests and Modena’s possible offer.

Attack chapter. Having said of Alberti’s imminent arrival, in recent days there have been suggestions again for Massimo Coda, who had already been linked to Modena a year ago. Regardless of the attacker’s age (he will turn 36 on November 10th), there will always remain the stumbling block of a salary, even in this case, distant from the ownership policy, but it is not a possibility to be completely ruled out. Then there is always the discussion about the Brescia striker (owned by Frosinone) Gennaro Borrelli: if owner Cellino’s club does not buy him out by 14 June (but it seems they will), the striker could return to the market, but the ransom set by the Ciociari, over three million euros, is not particularly cheap. He will know more in the next few days. Meanwhile, in the open market, we can expect more than one push for Antonio Palumbo, a player who always has many admirers: already in January Modena had returned an offer of three million euros to the sender, and therefore it appears difficult, now as now, think about his possible departure. It is also true that, if a so-called indispensable proposal arrived, it would be difficult not to sit around the table. But, at the moment, everything still remains in the field of hypotheses.
