June is a month full of patronal celebrations for the brotherhoods. In the Lavagnola district of Savona on Thursday 13 June the San Dalmazio Confraternity will celebrate the feast of its co-patron Saint Anthony of Padua. In the San Dalmazio Oratory at 5.30 pm the rosary will be recited, followed at 6 pm by the mass presided over by the parish priest Don Camillo Podda and also attended by the other brotherhoods. Refreshments will follow.

Also in Savona on Saturday 22 June the Confraternity of Saints John the Baptist, John the Evangelist and Petronilla will celebrate the nativity of the “Forerunner” in their oratory in via Bartolomeo Guidobono with the recitation of the rosary at 4.30 pm and mass at 5 pm. A convivial moment will follow . Together with Jesus and the Virgin Mary, the Baptist is the only saint of the Catholic Church whose birth is celebrated.

In Spotorno, June 22 will still be the day of the Santissima Annunziata. The procession with the artistic crucifixes and the “cassa” will start at 9pm from the parish church and arrive at the oratory of the same name, where the Eucharistic blessing will be imparted.
