TREVISO – The numbers smell like records. And the dawn of Friday 14 June promises to be truly wonderful. There are already over two thousand members registered “5 to 5”, the now traditional pre-dawn race organized by Salvatore Bettiol and the staff of the Mezza di Treviso. The target? Approaching, if not reaching, the three thousand mark, a number that would represent the absolute record of the “5 at 5”.
The departure will take place at 5 o’clock from the Bastione San Marco, on the walls. The route, just over 5 km long, will develop in the heart of the historic centre, going from Borgo Cavour to Piazza dei Signori, from the Pescheria to the riviera area, from Corso del Popolo to the Duomo, and then returning to the starting point. It will be a dawn of pure fun for many runners and walkers. The party, albeit with a soft tone so as not to disturb other people’s sleep, will be this way to the end: there will be no leaderboards and very few stopwatches will be seen in action. Many of the participants will walk, rather than run.
The “5 at 5” will above all be an opportunity to discover, at an unusual time and from an unusual perspective, well-known and less well-known corners of Treviso. To take a different look at the streets and squares that mark our daily lives. To savor new sensations in the setting of a still sleeping city, free from noise and traffic. Upon arrival, participants will be greeted by a large group breakfast, with coffee and freshly baked croissants. A nice wake-up call before tackling the traditional commitments of the day.
