Cesena, another step forward towards D’Aversa

The domino effect of the coaching market also affects Cesena indirectly. Yesterday the Juventus club made further progress towards Roberto D’Aversa but has not yet closed the negotiation: this is due to… Venezia, who had contacted the former Lecce coach in recent weeks. Until the lagoon players have chosen Vanoli’s replacement (promotion coach who already has the agreement with Torino, even if the granata have not yet paid the one million euro clause), D’Aversa is always on the cards , also because the Venetian director Antonelli lives in Pescara just like the coach.

In any case, optimism reigns in Cesena and yesterday evening small steps forward were recorded. The right day for white smoke, at this point, could be Thursday.

In Venice, however, D’Aversa is in the second row together with Zaffaroni behind Vivarini and Di Francesco. Not wanting (and not being able) to risk being left holding the bag, Arctic is looking around and keeping other doors open. For example, we like the coaches who succeeded each other in Palermo last season, Eugenio Corini and Michele Mignani, as well as Leonardo Semplici.

The choice of the new coach will then also unlock the player market. Without forgetting that we also need to understand when Di Taranto will be able to terminate his contract with Spal to become general manager of Cesena.

Tuscany and Catania one step away

Speaking of contracts to be resolved, Cavalluccio still has the record-breaking coach Domenico Toscano on its payroll, who however is one step away from Catania: yesterday too the sporting director of Etna Faggiano and the Calabrian coach would have spoken by telephone. The table has been set and confirmations are arriving from the Sicilian environment, but also in this case the negotiation is still blocked and the definitive green light has not arrived as the existing contract with Cesena must first be terminated, of which Toscano and the Juventus club they have not yet discussed (also because the parties have not spoken for over a month…). While waiting for a solution, Catania too can only wait, while the paths that would lead Toscano to Bari and Padua now seem to have disappeared.
