Pthe commitment of the Prefecture of Foggia continues in activities to prevent and combat the infiltration of organized crime into the local economy.
“In recent days the prefect Maurizio Valiante – according to a note released by the government building – has adopted an anti-mafia interdictory measure against a Manfredonia company operating in commerce in public areas, to which are added two collaborative prevention measures issued against as many companies based in Orta Nova, operating in the construction sector, against which elements have emerged that point to the danger of occasional facilitation of criminal interests”.
And again: “This further prevention tool provided for by the art. 94 bis of the anti-mafia code – and introduced by Legislative Decree no. 152 of 2021 Urgent provisions for the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr) and for the prevention of mafia infiltration – allows the severity of the anti-mafia preventive measure to be modulated in relation to the actual degree of compromise of the company with respect to the criminal context”.
Again from the Prefecture of Foggia they let it be known that “in the territory of Orta Nova, whose municipal council was dissolved due to mafia infiltration on 18 July 2023, the anti-mafia administrative measures adopted in recent months which have affected the construction sector have therefore risen to three”.
“The recent police operations directed by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari confirm the strong interest of organized crime in the construction sector – observed the prefect Valiante, underlining the strategic importance of anti-mafia prevention, and the maximum attention towards all the focal points of the territory, from the Daunian capital to the areas of the lower and upper Tavoliere and the Gargano, in order to preserve the economic fabric from mafia infiltration attempts, on which the Prefecture is committed on a daily basis”.
