Green areas of via Campesio and via Morigi, Legambiente Piacenza: “Heritage to be protected, no to buildings and supermarkets”. In view of the drafting of the PUG, General Urban Plan, of the Municipality of Piacenza on Thursday 20 June 2024, a public debate is scheduled at Spazio 2 (via 24 Maggio) organized by the Municipal Council n.1 Environment and Territory.
We will talk about various green areas – explains Giuppe Castelnuovo of Legambiente Piacenza – but above all those that worry us the most such as the areas of via Campesio and via Morigi. In the first, the construction of 7 buildings was envisaged, but after collecting citizens’ signatures, the Urban Planning Committee established that at the moment there are no conditions to approve this operation. Now in the new master plan we are asking ourselves what we intend to do in this area.
One of our ideas concerns the possible request for acquisition of the area by the Public Administration. The vegetable gardens could return, no longer for private use but for the elderly people of the neighborhood. Things already done in other cities.
The possibility of building a supermarket and a car park was recently presented by Camuzzi’s liquidators. We absolutely oppose this proposal.
