The “VI.TE.” project is underway. Proximity to the Territory – Map of opportunities”

The Assembly of New Imola Districtin 2023, formally established the District Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission, after a process of self-nominations by the citizens of all the municipalities of the NCI. These are 21 men and women who have made their time available to the community, with the aim of reducing inequalities.

The theme they chose to focus on was that of disabilityin particular information on which places in the Municipalities are also accessible to people with disabilities, for sporting, recreational and cultural activities.

It was born”LIVES. Territorial Proximity – Map of opportunities”, a project in progress, which finds space on the website of the Nuovo Circondario Imolese (www.nuovocircondarioimolese.it/argomenti/vi-te-vicinanza-territorio), providing all citizens with references to accessible activities and events/ dedicated to people with disabilities, selectable by Municipality or by activity and with any costs and further information sites indicated.

The Map was presented last Saturday 1 June, during a press conference, attended by Donato Mazzoli, coordinator of the District Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission, Beatrice Poli, Mayor delegated for Equal Opportunities for the NCI and the Equality Councillors. Opportunities of the Municipalities of the New Imola District.

There Map it will be accessible to everyone, through a form located in the same section of the site and which can be sent, together with other notes and suggestions, to the dedicated email [email protected] Once a month, the Map will be checked and updated by the communications staff of the New Imola District.

To improve its usability, on the recommendation of the Commission itself, the Council of the New Imola District has adopted an act of direction on the opportunity “of identifying solutions aimed at making the website of the New Imola District more accessible and usable by people with disabilities”. By delivering this resource to the community, the first stage of the District Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission concludes. The dissemination of the initiative is completed by a bookmark with the Project’s references, which will be distributed in the places where citizens visit most.

“Daily life is very chaotic for everyone – declares the Coordinator of the Commission, Donato Mazzoli – It came naturally to us to propose this tool which easily helps to find what can be used to simplify it. A sort of instruction booklet for putting together a puzzle.”
