Arezzo Intour Foundation: here is the Board of Directors

Arezzo, 27 June 2024 – In a sign of continuity, the new Board of Directors of the Arezzo Intour Foundation has been appointed and will remain in office for the next three-year period 2024-2027.

As required by the statute, the members appointed the 3 members (2 from the participating members and 1 from the supporting members) who form the governance of Arezzo Intour together with the 3 people designated by the Municipality. Alongside Simone Chierici (president), Alessio Alterini (managing director) and Maria Cristina Muzzi (all three appointed by the Municipality), there are Catiuscia Fei, Francesco Meacci (indicated by the participating members) and Federico Vestri (elected by the members’ meeting supporters) to complete the board.

The meeting of supporting members also saw the appointment of Sergio Rossi as president of the same meeting.

“We are moving towards the next three years – underlines the president Simone Chierici – with a total reconfirmation of the outgoing Board of Directors in the sign of a continuity that underlines two things: appreciation for the work done so far and trust in our work. Two aspects for which we can only be grateful and honored. If through the Intour Foundation the Arezzo tourist destination is today a continuously growing reality, much of the credit must be given to the mayor Alessandro Ghinelli who, first, believed in the “foundation system” allowing this city to write a new page in its history . We wish the newly elected members good luck in their work, with the enthusiasm of continuing the path we have started together.”

The meeting of supporting members was also an opportunity to present the Annual Report 2023, the publication with which the Arezzo Intour Foundation recounts the work carried out every year: data and numbers that tell of an impressive work of territorial promotion, documenting growth constant and continuous.

The official data collected by the Municipality of Arezzo for the purposes of the tourist tax speak clearly: tourist presences in 2023 reached the figure of 558,768 (compared to 502,491 in 2022), with a total of 266,901 arrivals characterized by an average length of stay, which exceeded two days, resulting in a considerable increase in overall attendance. For the whole of 2023, the Arezzo destination was at the center of a constant communication action (online and offline) which included both more traditional channels such as press, web, radio and TV and less conventional activities.

The trade fair activity with the Arezzo Intour Foundation involved in major international events was also very important. Much attention was also paid to the new project MUAR-Museums of Arezzo”, the result of an agreement between the Regional Directorate of Museums of Tuscany of the MiC and the Arezzo Intour Foundation for a new management model for the city museum system. Finally, the strategic communication plan that accompanied the Antiques Fair and “Arezzo City of Christmas”, the key event of the Italian winter that has once again obtained the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, was important.
