NEWS. Centro Candiani, redevelopment project ok
The Venice City Council, in today’s session, approved the redevelopment project of the Candiani Cultural Center in relation to the new entrance to the exhibition halls. The planned works include redevelopment interventions of the southern body through the reconstruction of the elevated pedestrian path and the creation of a new information space and a new space dedicated to the ticket office. The investment, desired by the municipal administration, has a value of approximately 3 million euros and is financed by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, which is responsible for the drafting and approval of the executive design as well as the awarding of the contract and the execution of the works.
NEWS. Summer events, exceptions to maximum hourly limits approved
The municipal council also approved the exemption from the maximum time limits for public entertainment events as part of “Le Città in Festa 2024” in the period June-September with the aim of finding a fair balance between the right to carry out activities of socialization and aggregation to be satisfied in places and times that do not interfere with the needs of others for rest and tranquility and the right to rest of residents. Among others, the provision concerns the Festival of Sant’Antonio in Marghera, the Festival of Sant’Antonio in campo San Francesco della Vigna, the Festival of Carpenedo, the Festival of Sant’Antonio in Pellestrina, Piraghetto sotto le stelle, Incontriamoci in via Piave.
NEWS. Jesolo Turismo, renewed agreement for the management of first aid points
After the excellent feedback obtained in the first experience, during the summer of 2023, Jesolo Turismo Spa decided to renew the agreement with the company Ways srl (which is based in Venice) for the management of the first aid points located along the beach. In addition to the use of professional medical and nursing staff from 10.30am to 6.30pm, the innovation introduced by Ways is the direct connection with the Provincial Operations Center of Venice (COP) in order to reduce the time required for cardiac arrest rescue, to guarantee timely intervention increasing survival and prognosis rates.
SPORT. Work begins on the Mirano sports facilities
Adaptation and re-functionalization works have begun in the Mirano sports field, which include the complete renovation of the athletics track and the spaces for the jumping and throwing disciplines. Furthermore, the spaces dedicated to changing rooms will be demolished and rebuilt with seismic adaptation and CONI regulations and energy and functional improvement. The cost is 2 million 850 thousand euros. The work is expected to be completed in autumn next year. A second construction site will open next week in Vetrego for the second phase of the redevelopment and expansion works of the multi-purpose sports facility. Total cost 2 million euros, completion of works scheduled for spring 2025. Both projects are financed with PNRR and municipal funds.
