Intense week for ‘ViaConvento’, which on this occasion… doubles! Not one, but rather two initiatives, with the usual aim of stimulating the citizens’ curiosity and desire for knowledge, focusing with conviction on local authors and Sardinian literature. A new event of the event will be held on Friday 14 June 2024, at 6pmwith the presentation of the book “The unforeseeable happens” Of Giorgio La Spisa. On this occasion, at the Ex Convento dei Cappuccini, he will dialogue with the author Lucia Cossu, and Valentina Loi will intervene.

The book (Arkadia publisher, 2024): While war rages in the world, a soldier and a girl meet by chance near the fountain of a town located between the sea, a large lagoon and the winding mountain roads that lead to Cagliari. From this moment on, facts, people and scenarios will be inextricably intertwined in an era of iron and blood. The lives of the two young people, their hopes, the projects and dreams that accompany them become the leitmotif of an existence that seeks good and joy in a troubled moment full of unknowns. Joy, pain, amazement, disillusionment, everything mixes in a vortex that accompanies the protagonists day after day. But everything is supported by hope, which opens a horizon over every event in which a light illuminates and comforts. In a time span that extends almost up to the present day, we follow the events of a compact group of characters who adhere, moment by moment, to their destiny.

“This story is a hymn of love for the Sardinian land and in particular for Cagliari, for its landscapes, for what it had to suffer during the bombings. The destruction and subsequent reconstructions, the poverty , the will and strength to react to the hardships, the slander, the effort of carrying on the essential daily life in those years. The correct narrative style, very rich and varied, a truly rare pearl, also deserves compliments.”
Daniela Domenici
