Today the vote, the official proclamation will take place in seven days. He is the youngest Rector of an Italian state university

Teramo, 11 June – Christian Corsi, full professor of Business Economics, is the new rector of the University of Teramo. As established by the art. 19 of the University Statute, he will remain in office for six academic years, until 2030.

Christian Corsi succeeds Dino Mastrocola who has led the University of Teramo since 2018. 48 years old, Corsi is the youngest Rector of an Italian state university. Born in Teramo in 1976, Christian Corsi is a full professor in Business Economics at the Department of Communication Sciences, of which he was dean and subsequently director.

Corsi obtained 239 preferences. The candidate Salvatore Cimini, full professor of Administrative Law, reported 232 preferences. For the election of the Rector, 533 voters were involved: 262 teachers including first and second level professors and researchers, 185 units of technical-administrative and library staff, 86 student representatives in the Student Council and in the collegial bodies of the University. 92.5% of eligible voters voted, equal to 492 voters. There were 10 invalid ballots and 11 blank ones. The official proclamation by the President of the Central Electoral Commission will take place within seven working days of the closing of the polling station.

The new Rector will take office on 1 November 2024.

He is coordinator of the PhD course in Economic and social sciences of the University of Teramo and professor at the University of Naples “Federico II”.

He was vice-rector of Entrance Orientation, Placement and Student Welfare. He was coordinator of the master’s degree course in Economics and communication for management and innovation in partnership with the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

He was a member of the CRUI Commission “Budget and economic and financial management of universities”. He is a member of scientific committees of international journals, including International Journal of Business Competition and Growth, Management Control, International Journal of Management and Enterprise Development, International Journal of Business Environment, Journal of Business Economics and Management.

He is a member of the following academic-scientific communities: AIDEA (Italian Academy of Business Economics), SISR (Italian Society of the History of Accounting) and SIDREA (Italian Society of Accounting and Business Economics Teachers).

He has participated as a speaker in over 170 scientific conferences and seminars at national and European level. He has published over 70 contributions including articles and scientific monographs with national and international publishers in the field of university technology transfer and spin-offs, accounting dynamics and economic-financial, innovative and social performance, as well as corporate governance of SMEs, companies start-ups and technology-based, also with reference to sustainability-oriented business models.
