Desire for the left also in Calabria and Catanzaro. This seems to mean the extraordinary result obtained by the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra in the context of an extraordinary result throughout Italy. Dragged by the candidacy of Mimmo Lucano, one of the various program candidacies put forward, a true symbol of a welcoming and supportive humanity, AVS triples the political votes.
In the province of Catanzaro it goes from 1.82 to 6.08% with a strong concentration in the vast Soverato district and in some centers of the Presila, with peaks close to 30%. In the city of Catanzaro with almost 1800 votes, it ranges from 2.09 in the political elections to 6.56%.
In short, for once with the same trend as the national data, the presence of a left-wing force that covers a clear representation within the context of a broader alliance that opposes the “regime” forcing of the current majority starting from the Referendum on the Premiership. From today it is a question of consolidating an electoral alliance for the Italian Left and the Greens that has proven to be virtuous and successful.
The electoral data shows at all latitudes of the peninsula the need for the organic birth of an opposition coalition, larger and stronger than that of the political ones, which finds in AVS a left-wing terrain that characterizes the identity of a part of its voters and its militants. Even on a local level, an overall clarification is perhaps necessary, the city of Catanzaro has shown on this occasion the strength to react, many and many have courageously expressed their desire to stay close. I am not hiding the driving force of Mimmo Lucano but I believe that it should not have been the aim but the opportunity for a renewed commitment to identity but open to comparison and synthesis.
The country will go through a period of great difficulty in the coming years but the majority in the country must find the motivation to significantly oppose what they will try to do.
I fear first of all an attack on the double round for the election of the Mayor which must be defended by every means as I believe that the time has come for a reform of this unfair electoral law for Parliament.
Preliminary data seems to show a return of young people towards the left. Let us believe in them completely and ask for their contribution for social justice, for representation, for peace.
