The mayor of Bergamo could remain on the centre-left. While awaiting the counting of the administrative elections, which begins at 2pm, yesterday evening the Opinio per Rai consortium released an exit poll on the Orobic city according to which the votes of the centre-left candidate Elena Carnevali are within a range of between 53 and 57% of the votes. It would therefore be a victory in the first round.

Again according to the voting intentions collected by Opinio per Rai, the centre-right mayoral candidate, Andrea Pezzotta, would collect between 39 and 43%. M5s candidate Vittorio Apicella is stuck between 3 and 5%.

All eyes therefore on the municipal counting which begins at 2pm and which for Lombardy sees 961 municipalities voting throughout the region, with Bergamo also including the two provincial capitals of Pavia and Cremona. Of these municipalities, only 37 exceed the threshold of 15 thousand inhabitants, necessary to go to the ballot on 23 and 24 June, if no candidate exceeds 50 percent of the votes in the first round.

In the Milan area, 68 municipalities voted, of which several could go to a run-off. Among these are Cesano Boscone, Trezzano, Paderno Dugnano, Rozzano, Peschiera Borromeo, Cormano, Lainate, Novate Milanese and Settimo Milanese. For three municipalities, Agrate Brianza, in the Monzese area, Casalpusterlengo (Lodi) and Concesio (Brescia), double-round voting will debut, because the growth of residents has led to the threshold of 15 thousand inhabitants being exceeded.
