MODENA. It was a weekend of celebration that was held again this year Saliceta sports club for the “Gas day” or the Gasparo daya fun two-day event dedicated to charity, which saw the involvement of a thousand people including volunteers fans of the Modena curvelocal associations and many families who decided to spend the weekend on the football pitches and under the trees in the garden of the sports center in via Panni to celebrate the arrival of summer and raise funds for those less fortunate.

«I have been carrying out this project since 2011 – says Matteo Casari, creator of the event, football lover and Modena fan – and I do it in the name of my great friend Andrea Turrinisaid “Gasparo”, who passed away in 2010. Hence the title of this two days – continues Casari – which we have been carrying out for 13 years (we only stopped due to Covid), to raise funds to be donated year after year to associations, bodies or even simply to individual people who we know for certain to be in conditions of poverty or with economic need for various reasons”.

Gas day began on Saturday evening with street food under the trees accompanied by the music of a DJ set during which a charity auction was held and then continued throughout Sunday with the football tournament in the morning, lunch in garden and afternoon fundraising activities, including a large raffle. «Remembering the sensitivity of our friend Gasparo – explains Casari – what we, a group of volunteer friends who take care of the whole organisation, want to put into practice are the values ​​of friendship and inclusion, both from the from a sporting point of view, with the teams participating in the tournament having no age, gender and physical ability restrictions (indeed, the more heterogeneous the teams are, the more fun it is), and from an economic point of view, taking care to maintain political prices in the catering area ».

Among the many volunteers, the kids from the team also contributed to the success of the event.“Everything moves” association of Formiginewho served the tables and the chef of the Osteria della Cavazzona Marco Messori who proposed some gourmet dishes and offered as the first prize of the lottery a dinner at his restaurant worth 200 euros.
