The passport photo booths become a refuge for women victims of violence.

By June 30th, the “Pink Boxes” will be distributed throughout Italy, from Milan to Palermo, also passing through Catanzaro, with which it will be possible to connect directly with 1522, the national anti-violence and stalking number established by the presidency of the Council of Ministers.

The idea, created thanks to the meeting between the Differenza Donna association and Dedem, a company that manages around four thousand passport photo machines in Italy, was born after the death of Giulia Cecchettin, to help all women in difficulty who do not have the possibility or freedom to use your own phone. «Contacting 1522 means – explains the president of Differenza Donna, Elisa Ercoli – having the availability, in total anonymity and confidentiality, to deal with experts who listen and give back to the woman the reality she is experiencing, freeing her from an underestimation which is often mechanism that is as defensive as it is dangerous.”

The passport photo booths are thus transformed into real help stations: a multilingual service, free and active 24 hours a day.
