Yet another success for the Piacenza Farnesiana Karate which took part in the FIJLKAM Italian Rookie Championships (athletes born in 2011-2012) at the grandiose “Palapellicone” (Federal Olympic Centre) in Ostia (Rome). 952 athletes from 354 companies out of 1250 affiliated to FIJLKAM-CONI (Italian Federation of Judo, Wrestling, Karate and Martial Arts) participated in the prestigious competition. Michelle Rizzoli and Martina Ponenti had obtained the pass to access the Italian rookie championships by winning the title of regional champions in the month of May in San Secondo (Parma) and they faced their first Italian championship with a lot of anxiety and emotion. Michelle (born in 2012) in the -40kg category, in which there were 64 finalists, played six matches and Martina (born in 2011) in the -35kg category, with 32 finalists, played five matches and both won fifth place . With this result, the Piacenza standard bearers acquire the qualification of athletes of national interest, and furthermore with this result, in the year 2025 they will access the Italian championships without having to undergo the regional phases. The staff of the well-known Piacenza club composed of Maestro Gian Luigi Boselli, the Technician Giorgio Livelli, the Instructor Pier Paolo Cagnoni, the coaches Giulia Ghilardotti and Marco Risoli is planning the ASC national championship to be held in Cervia for the month of June, the CTR GAMES FIJKAM selection in the Central-Italy area in Rome and the FIJLKAM Open League to be held in Rome, a match valid for the Fijlkam national ranking.
