Not even time to archive the 2023/24 season, officially ended with Carrarese’s victory in the play-offs for promotion to Serie Bthat the time has already come for Lega Pro to think about planning the next one.
First of all, the start dates of the competitions must be defined. This time the championship could start earlier than last year. In fact, last year we left on September 3rd, while the Serie C tournament version 2024/25 could open its doors as early as August: in fact it is in the weekend from 23 to 25 August that the opening day could be set.
At the same time, around Via Jacopo da Diacceto in Florence we are working on the organization of the Serie C Italian Cup, with the aim of anticipating its start in this case too. No longer in October, but in August, which is possible despite the fact that the matches of the Italian Cup of the greats are scheduled in the same period: after all, the only third series teams that will take part are only four (the runners-up of the three groups Padua, Torres And Avellino, plus the Catania) will enter the competition reserved for C clubs only starting from the second round.
We will therefore try to start the event as early as August 11th. Programming that Benevento is waiting to know, given that it is decisive for the choice of the pre-season training camp: in all likelihood, the Giallorossi will leave by mid-July.
