AGI – The 2024 European elections record the success of Pd, FdI, Avs compared to the 2022 elections. FI and Lega showed a slight improvement. Bad M5s, which may not be in double figures. The liberals of the United States of Europe and Action remain outside the European Parliament. The turnout in Italy is for the first time in history less than 50%: today we are at 48.21% and in 2019 it was 54.5% (-6.29%).
With 97% of the sections scrutinized (the data are from the Interior Ministry) FdI is the first party with 28.83% (in the 2022 elections it had 26%, in the 2019 European elections it had 6.44%). The Democratic Party is the political force that gains the most with 24.04% (in 2022 it had 19.1%, in 2019 22.74%). Avs is at 6.62% (in 2022 it had 3.6%).
FI (which incorporated the votes of We moderates) has 9.72% (in 2022 it had 8.1%, in 2019 8.78%). The League has 9.14% (in 2022 it had 8.8%, in 2019 34.26%).
M5s has 9.91% (in 2022 it had 15.4%, in 2019 17.06%).

United States of Europe and Action they are below the 4% threshold. The party of Renzi, Bonino and Maraio has 3.73%. That of Calenda 3.31%.
The other lists remain outside the European Parliament, including Santoro’s ‘Pace terra dignita’, De Luca e Castelli’s ‘Freedom – South calls North’, Bandecchi’s ‘Popular Alternative’ and Rizzo’s ‘Popular Sovereign Democracy’.

In the constituencies FdI is the leading party in the north-west, north-east, center and islands. The Democratic Party is first in the southern constituency. The League is the third largest party in the northwest and northeast. FI is second in the islands. M5s is the third force in the southern and central constituencies.


TO regional level FI is first in Sicily and Calabria. The Democratic Party is first in Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Campania, Puglia and Basilicata. M5s second force in Campania. Avs is in double figures in Trentino Alto Adige and Valle d’Aosta. The League is only third in Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. ‘Freedom-South calls North’ by Cateno De Luca has 7.63% in Sicily.
As far as preferences are concerned, Giorgia Meloni known as ‘Giorgia’ has no rivals in FdI and exceeds two million votes.


In the Democratic Party Elly Schlein is in the lead, but not by much in the central and island constituencies where he ran. Nardella, Ricci and Zingaretti did well. Further back Tarquinio and Bartolo. In the south the mayor of Bari Decaro is in the lead. Cecilia Strada leads in the northwest, Bonaccini is largely in the lead in the northeast.

The general Roberto Vannacci wins the preference challenge in the League. Antonio Tajani is first in the 4 constituencies where he ran, but Caterina Chinnici is not leading in the islands.
In the M5s Carolina Morace is first in the center, Tridico leads in the south.
In Avs Ilaria Salis gets full marks. Mimmo Lucano did well in the south and north-east.
Renzi is first in the preferences for United States of Europe in the four constituencies where he ran. The ‘United States of Europe’ list, having failed to pass the 4% threshold, will however not have seats in the European Parliament.

Over 2 million preferences for “Giorgia”

Giorgia Meloni known as ‘Giorgia’ exceeds two million preferential votes. Not all the sections have yet been counted and Meloni already has 527 thousand votes in the north-west, 466 thousand in the north-east, 418 thousand in the centre, 475 thousand in the south and 190 thousand in the islands. FdI is the first party in all constituencies except the south, where the Democratic Party prevails.
