LIVE – Polls closed in the 302 polling stations in the province of Piacenza for the European elections and in 111 of the 28 municipalities called to renew local administrations. While the definitive turnout is awaited, the counting of the European elections begins immediately, that of the municipal elections on Monday at 2 pm. However, the virtual election of four mayors can already be recorded, those of Morfasso, Besenzone, Sarmato and San Pietro in Cerrowhere there was only one list and the quorum necessary to validate the 40% vote was reached.
In the European elections the definitive turnout in the province of Piacenza is equal to 55.16 percent, a significant decrease of over 9 percent compared to 64.4 in 2019. In the capital, just over half of those entitled to participate, with 51.76%.
In the local electionsthe Piacenza municipality where the most votes were cast is Piozzano with more than 81 percent of voters, the one where the lowest participation was recorded is Brass, with only 42.84%. Farini and Zerba also under 50% turnout. The average turnout at the municipal elections was 62.76 percent (down from 67.7 five years ago). High turnout also in Morfasso, with over 77% and in Gossolengo almost 70%. TO Castelsangiovanni participation was 61.94 percent.

In 2019, at the previous round, the definitive turnout figure for the European elections in the province of Piacenza was 64.41%. In the Municipality of Piacenza alone, turnout stopped at 60.64% five years ago. With regard to the 2019 municipal electionsthe average turnout at the closing of the polls was 67.73%.
