The Sailors of Italy inaugurate the marine colony

CIVITAVECCHIA – Also this year, with the usual inauguration of the Marine Colony of the Anmi Group of Civitavecchia, the summer season was officially opened, uniting all of us under a common element: the sea.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the president of Anmi, Captain Romano Angeloni, now in his second year of office. The event began, as per protocol, with the flag raising accompanied by the national anthem, honored by the traditional sailor whistles.

This was followed by a moving moment dedicated to the deceased member Ivan Caponero, who was remembered with the blessing of the plaque named after him, in the presence of his parents, the authorities and all those present, in an emotional scenario accompanied by the silence played by the trumpeter Dario De Paolis, part of the Puccini band of Civitavecchia.

During the ceremony, the Holy Mass was celebrated by the Military Chaplain Don Massimo Carlino who, during the homily, underlined his enthusiasm in attending a ceremony, which he has been taking part in for ten years now. Among those present were the mayor Ernesto Tedesco, the maritime director of the Lazio Region and commander of the Port Authority, CV (CP) Michele Castaldo, the Santa Fermina Diocesan Committee, the Fire Brigade, the Red Cross, the NAA Pro CV, the Coordinator of the local Army Associations, the Scouts of the “Stella Maris”, the welcome participation of the Anmi Group of Ladispoli and the unexpected participation of the welcome Anmi Group of Turin.

At the end of the religious function, enhanced by the inevitable recitation of the “Sailor’s Prayer”, the president of the group spoke followed by speeches from the Maritime Director and the Mayor, the latter taking the opportunity to extend an affectionate embrace to the association in its institutional capacity since the conclusion of its mandate.

Subsequently, the authorities who attended presented certificates of merit to some members, who particularly distinguished themselves for their attachment to the association.

Finally, the speech of the president emeritus of the Rosario Alessandro group, who wanted to seal this beautiful day by recalling the seafaring spirit as well as the values ​​and principles that animate the association.

The party ended with a collective toast and the hope for a peaceful and happy summer, in particular taking up an ancient and traditional maritime saying addressed as a wish to those present and to the city: “Wind in the sails for everyone”.
