Elections, turnout at 30% in the province of Rimini

In the province of Rimini the turnout at 12 today stands at 27.03% for the European elections and 33.01% for the local elections. Last night at 11pm the provincial data released by the prefecture stopped at 15.05% and 18.60% respectively. In the Municipality of Rimini, where voting is only held to elect the members of the European Parliament, the turnout recorded at 12pm was 25.36%: the highest figure in this area is reported in Maiolo, where the figure has already reached 46 ,57%. In the same municipality, voters are also asked to choose the mayor, and even in this case this is where the record turnout comes from: 45.88%.
In the larger municipalities where administrative elections are held, the highest turnout was recorded in Santarcangelo (34.93% at 12pm), followed closely by Bellaria Igea Marina (34.67%) and – slightly further back – by Misano (32.2%). Bringing up the rear in terms of number of citizens voting for the European elections is Montescudo – Monte Colobo, at midday stuck at 18.22%, while for the administrative elections the lowest percentage goes to San Clemente (26.33%). The latter is one of the three municipalities in the province with only one candidate running for the office of mayor, a dynamic that sets the quorum at 40% of those entitled, with the need to receive at least half of valid votes: the other two they are Talamello (31.08% turnout) and Casteldelci (33.23%).
