Caserta (pm) – Thursday, requested by the Caserta curia, the mayor Carlo Marino convened the introductory meeting planned for the calling of the so-called Services Conference on the bishop’s project for the regeneration of the former Macrico. This would be the technical-legal-administrative tool identified by the municipal offices to implement the master plan conceived to change the area.
In truth, the proceedings of the meeting seemed to be carried out by tentative steps. We navigated by sight, so to speak. With quite a few entities, among those invited, giving flat rate, believing that they have no expertise in this regard. Such as the forestry police. So much so that it is not clear whether it was an error in the summons of individuals who had nothing to do with it or a clumsy attempt to make smoke propaganda.
The other impression we had was the perfect assonance of ideas between those of the mayor and the episcopal ones on how and what to commit the 180 million euros that would cost the works that they would like to carry out. So much so that many of the mayor’s statements and those of Carmine Esposito representing the diocesan property were found to be perfectly overlapping and certainly not by chance.
At a certain point we understood, from the statements of Marine, that he and his administration want exactly what is wanted in the bishopric. And that the planned administrative steps are only a necessary nuisance, but that they will be overcome somehow. Everything else, in this vision, does not count, starting with the city council which already acts as passively acquiescent, to come to the Green Macrico Committee which for over twenty years has opposed, with following and credibility (enjoying the enlightened support of Bishop Nogaro emeritus), the recurring attempts at building speculation on the surface.
Just the Green Macrico Committee, in the aftermath of the municipal meeting on Thursday, issued the press release that we publish below, with which it censures everything that is happening also with regard to a new urban classification of the area hypothesized in the meeting. We submit it to the readers’ judgment so that they can see whether these are unreasonable ideas or whether they no longer authentically interpret the city’s interest.
