The award ceremony for the winning students for the secondary schools of the Provinces of Ancona and Pesaro took place on Friday 4 June, at the headquarters of the Bellanca Association.

Nicole Agnelucci of the IIS Polo 3 of Fano, accompanied by the teacher Graziella Donia, and Emma Barchiesi of the IIS Corinaldesi Padovano, accompanied by the teacher Tiziana Casavecchia, won the first prize ex aequo with two very beautiful works that proposed a reflection on to the life of Giacomo Matteotti and his human characteristics, highlighting both the highly significant work of the politician and the historical context in which he was formed and acted in defense of the democratic institutions of our country.

The jury, made up of Professors Fulvia Principi, Patrizia Servizi and Maddalena Marchetti, also awarded a special mention to Michele Cesaretti and Ouqqas Nadir, for a poster developed together, commemorating the centenary of his death.

All the works were sent to the Regional Gramsci Institute for their publication.

Present were the Councilor for Culture Riccardo Pizzi who brought the greetings of the Municipal Administration which sponsored the competition, the Director of the Gramsci Marche Institute Mario Carassai, the president of the Circolo Gramsci Carlo Mengucci of Senigallia Rinaldo Fanesi, the President of ‘ Augusto Bellanca Association Pasquale Bencivenga , the Vice President of ANPI Giulia Giuliani and Luigi Olivi Mabel Morri , the President Amici dell’Unità Luciano Magi Galluzzi as a supporter .

The Headmaster of the IIS Corinaldesi Padovano Simone Ceresoni and the class of winners accompanied by their teachers also participated.

The children developed multimedia, artistic and literary works, according to the inclinations most suited to their skills, with originality and particular graphic and pictorial aptitudes.

The competition was included among the many initiatives that will be held in 2024, on the centenary of his assassination and has spread among the young generations the knowledge of a man who defended Italian democracy in an extremely serious historical moment and honored the political role to which the voters had destined him, paying a very high price: his life.
