BUSTO ARSIZIO – Manara swimming pool closed, the opposition is not there. Doubts about how the relationship with Forus was managed. They externalize them Holy Cascio (Joint project): «Maybe not enough has been done». AND Gianluca Castiglioni (Bust in the Center): «If the resolution had arrived earlier, perhaps time would have been bought». But the sports councilor Maurizio Artusa reiterates: «Forus has never done what we asked and ended up rigging the values». And he promises: «We will be vigilant, as before and more than before.”
Opposition pressing
At the pressing of Emanuele Fiore (mixed group), first signatory of the request for a hearing in the sports commission on the Manara swimming pool case, and of the PD, who with Cinzia Berutti he is concerned about the “essential service” of public toilets “how do we intend to fill this gap?” and with Paolo Pedotti which proposes «concessions, even ex post, to compensate for the damage caused to usersnot only for unusable season tickets but also for transport to facilities outside Busto” add the accusations of the civic minority regarding the administration’s action. Gianluca Castiglioni, group leader of BaC claims that «with all the inspections that have been carried out, if the resolution had come a little earlier perhaps he would have bought himself a few months to have more time available.”
Cascio’s accusations
AND Santo Cascio (Joint project) adds: «The bitterness remains, if all this good work has resulted in the interruption of the service, trying to stop, perhaps not enough has been done». Cascio puts pressure on councilor Artusa, who promised attention in the commission, stating “I say it in Eurovision”: «It gives me the impression that if this same concern had been there since the first reports maybe we wouldn’t have gotten here. With 20 days of closure and the image we give with this interruption and discomfort of the citizens and sports clubs who have had to relocate – the words of the Progetto in comune councilor – I’m talking about political will, not of legal times. Furthermore, it had emerged in the inspections carried out by the commission the need for extraordinary maintenance interventions (under the jurisdiction of the Municipality), I wonder if they have been carried out”.
The administration’s responses
But with respect to the procedure for terminating the contract with Forus, the municipal lawyer Maria Antonietta Carrain the commission, assures that «we have proceeded with all the necessary warnings and documents, we left no stone unturned». And the director of social services Massimo Fogliani recalls that, “in case of necessity”, for the service of public toilets there is the “availability of shower of the new prefabricated building for the homeless canteen» at the railway station. Councilor Artusa instead goes back to June 2022, when «with Forus it felt like having a wireless telephonebut I had invoked a protocol for clear and timely communication and the display of tariffs.”

And with respect to Cascio’s “trial”, the sports councilor reiterates: “Forus never did what we asked of him, even banal ordinary maintenance interventions were never carried out, until the discovery that the values were rigged. But – he claims – were detected starting from our inspections». And for the future Maurizio Artusa assures: «I’ll be on the front line to check that things are going well, I will stay with the new manager breathing down his neck which proves to be of quality and we hope that the swimming pool will return to its former glory. But I always haveI have always been at the forefront and I am the only one who has always been prodded, even if this match involves different sectors of the administration. We will be as vigilant as before and more than before.”
