out of 40 km no trains for three months. The service guaranteed with buses until September 8th

No trains for three months on the Pavia – Mortara – Vercelli line. The suspension of the service will start from Sunday 9 June and, barring unforeseen circumstances, the end is scheduled for Sunday 8 September with the complete restoration of the convoys. The communication is from the Italian Railway Network, which manages the infrastructure.

The reason? Improvement and maintenance works which also involve other Lombardy routes. «The activities – they explain from the RFI group – are part of a broader network maintenance program whose objective is to raise the punctuality, regularity and reliability indices. The works will affect approximately 40 kilometers of tracks between Mortara and Pavia where the roadbed will be renovated and the tracks will be renewed with the total replacement of the sleepers for a total investment of 35 million euros. Such works can only be carried out by interrupting scheduled railway circulation.” From 9 June to 8 September, for these works planned between the stations of Mortara and Cava Carbonara, the Pavia – Mortara – Vercelli trains will be canceled and replaced with buses for the entire route. From July 28th to September 8thfor the works planned between the Cava Carbonara and Pavia stations, the trains on the Alessandria – Torreberetti – Pavia line will be canceled only in the section between Cava Carbonara and Pavia and replaced with buses.
