CALTANISSETTA – Yesterday morning in the seat of the Town Hall of Caltanissetta the memorandum of understanding for the prevention and the fight against cybercrimes to protect the information systems between the State Police, with the Cyber Security Operations Center – Postal and Communications Police of Western Sicily, and the Municipality of Caltanissetta.
The purpose of the memorandum of understanding
The agreement aims to share And to analyze information able to prevent and counter attacks or damage to IT infrastructures of the Municipality of Caltanissetta.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Director of the Cyber Security Operations Center – Postal and Communications Police of Western Sicily in Palermo Carmine Mosca and by the Director of the Technological Innovation and IT Security Service of the Municipality of Caltanissetta Diego Peruga.
This aims to create a synergy between the two Administrations which will allow mutual and timely reporting. The aim is to face emergency situations that arise from threats, vulnerability or accidents capable of damaging the regularity of telecommunications and generating an interruption of public utility services or the theft of sensitive data.
Moscow: strengthen prevention from cyber attacks
Doctor Carmine Mosca explains: “There protection of critical infrastructures computerized systems that provide essential services, such as those provided in the particular context by the Municipality of Caltanissetta, is one of the specific assets of the Postal Police, which operates at a central level with the CNAIPIC – National Anti-Cyber Crime Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures and at a territorial level with the Operational Units for Cyber Security”.
“The signing of the Protocol – goes on – aims to strengthen the prevention network against cyber attacks to critical infrastructures by offering a answer more effective and aimed at combat any form of illicit access with the aim of interrupting public utility services or unduly stealing sensitive information”.
The Peruga declaration
The doctor Diego Peruga highlights: “Lto cooperation between the Cyber Security Operations Center of the Postal and Communications Police and the Municipality of Caltanissetta aims at the prevention and repression of cyber crimes, inspired by the principle of participatory securitywith the aim of ensure synergistically and efficient the resources of the country system to the benefit of the entire community, contributing to the containment of operating costs resulting from interruptions of services provided through IT and telecommunications systems.
“This collaborative operating model – concludes – callows the prevention and fight against cybercrimes which have as their object, in their complexity, the “critical” IT systems and services of this body, to the benefit of operators and users”.
