Massimo Morri, a Rimini basketball talent, has died

Rimini basketball mourns Massimo Morri. At just 52 years old due to a short illness that left him with no escape.

For everyone, Max was the director of that historic 1972 year, the one that won championships at youth level together with Fontana, Ruggeri, Semprini and Ferroni and Myers.

After his playing career ended, Morri remained in the environment as a youth sector coach.

Many are remembering Morri in these hours, starting from some companies where he worked. “Happy Basket – reads a note -, mourns the passing of Massimo Morri, talented point guard from the historic ’72 season, coach of Ren-Auto in the 2011/2012 season. Tragic news that profoundly affected the entire Rimini basketball scene and the many who loved Max, who later became an appreciated photographer and videomaker. Rest in peace coach.”

Message from Rimini Basketball Rebirth. There is something that no one will ever take away from you, the passion you had for basketball that led you to be part of the most successful group in the history of Basketball Rimini.

You will always be one of the great heroes of ’72 whose championships won at youth level we praise.

Message of condolence also from the San Marino Basketball Federation: “The news leaves us shocked, speechless. Massimo Morri, a protagonist here in Repubblica as a player and also, in very recent years, as a coach, has died. In the second case, present in the staff of the Titans first team and also as head coach for basketball 2000. Federation of San Marino Pallacanestro, Pallacanestro Titano and Basket 2000 San Marino express their deepest condolences to Max’s family”.
