They made it, parents will hug their children: the five Haitian children stranded in their country of origin for bureaucratic reasons, they will arrive in Italy today from their homes adoptive families. The situation was resolved thanks to the intervention of the Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. The situation in Haiti, it is necessary to remember, is currently one of extreme social and health emergency, crime holds the country in its hands and violence is the order of the day.
The children from Haiti had been adopted by four Italian families, three from Veneto (Padua, Verona, Vicenza and Rho) and one from Lombardy, but, although all the documents were in order, the Embassy did not allow them to leave. Today a flight, perhaps a special flight, will land on Italian soil, giving these children and their adoptive parents a new beginning.
