The Trieste Football Crazy tournament has also ended with the last recoveries scheduled for Thursday 30 May. Sparkling draw, 3 to 3, between Bar Terzo Tempo and Blu United in the big match of the day. The bartenders scored with Luiso and a brace from a rediscovered Gelsi but Djordjevic’s men responded with a hat-trick from Andrejic who finished with another 3 points in first place in the special Best Player ranking.

Bar Terzo Tempo finished in third place after a well-played championship, for long stretches even at the top of the table. Blu United instead ranks fourth. Expats United beats Radio Taxi 3 to 0, largely reworked. A goal from Cernecca and a brace from Spiniello weakened the resistance of the taxi drivers, orphans of their bomber Bosco for more than a month now and of other fundamental pieces on the red and white chessboard.

L’Arrogante closed with a narrow victory, 2 to 1 over Abbigliamento Nistri, with goals from Flego and Pugliese. Polla scored the winning goal for the red and whites.

Istria FC also ended on a high note, beating the 9 Sorelle 9 to 2 with 4 goals from Neziraj and the Muja Dream Team Gelateria Jimmy who beat the Cinderella of the Drumsquad championship 10 to 1, with a quadruple from Cigno Coslovich.

Metfer ended the season losing 6 to 5 against Quarto Tempo but it was a sweet defeat because Montrone and his teammates had already earned the championship with two games to spare before the championship finale. Before the match, as the teams entered the field, the Fourth Half, winners of the last edition, honored the new champions with the “pasillo de honor”: De Marco, Schiavone and their teammates lined up in two rows, applauding and giving hand to the Metfer players, new champions of the tournament. An imported Spanish tradition, also in our championship.

For the record, the black and orange scored with Amodio, Ravmani and braces from Schettino and Zamboni, overturning the 3-1 lead in the first half. Metfer coach Nedea is preparing the team for the national finals on 14 June which will take place in Turin.

The team will represent Friuli Venezia Giulia in the top ASI competition.

At the end of the evening, the awards ceremony to close the season took place. The best players of the Tournament were awarded, including the strikers Stanojkovic of Blu United, Kofol of Bar Terzo Tempo, De Angelis of the Drumsquad, Zamboni and Ladogana of Quarto Tempo, Sali and Dervic jewels of Metfer. But Radio Taxi striker Daniele Bosco confirmed himself as top scorer with 39 goals in 17 games, despite the serious injury to his right arm sustained after a motorbike accident which will keep him out of the football pitch for a few months. Good luck to him from the entire organization for a speedy recovery and return to the football pitches. The best goalkeeper Lorenzo Scabar of the Fourth Half won by a landslide, breaking all records by finishing with full points with 66 points awarded by the referees in 22 games. Also awarded were Ranieri, Pecenko, Tamburlini and Andretto, the legendary goalkeeper who at 61 years old still defends the Radio Taxi goal. The awards ceremony ended with the team awards and the Metfer celebrations to the tune of “We are the champions” by Queen.

The Trieste Football Crazy Summer Edition 2024 will begin next week, the summer edition with two tournaments, one which will be played on the field of the Trieste Victory Academy in Borgo San Sergio in via Petracco 8 and the classic tournament during the festival of Sant’Andrea in via locchi from 14 June to 27 July.
