(ANSA) – GENOA, JUNE 12 – First move for Genoa who renewed the loan of Portuguese striker Vitor Vitinha, who arrived in January from Marseille, effectively transforming him into a purchase thanks to the obligation to buy set at 15 million. Vitinha had arrived at Grifone last January, again on loan but with a right of redemption set at 25 million. Despite some ailments, which caused him to miss 6 matches in two different periods, he stood out by scoring two goals (and one disallowed at San Siro) in 9 total appearances for 279 minutes, immediately showing all his qualities and fitting in at his best in Gilardino’s schemes. Genoa’s objective was to confirm the player and after a long negotiation an agreement was found between the two clubs, an agreement which satisfies not only Genoa and Olympique Marseille but also the attacker who had made no secret of the fact that he enjoyed himself in Genoa so much that he sent an unmistakable signal at the end of the championship by kissing his shirt after scoring against Bologna.
