Frost. The latest technical surveys were conducted by the regional environment department. The Palermo offices have completed the process for issuing the single authorization provision for the project of what is defined in the documents as a “multifunctional platform for the treatment of special liquid and muddy waste”. It is part of the decommissioning process of the former ISAF, on the Eni site. The services conference was closed, with a favorable outcome and with all the provisions released by the competent bodies. The same verification of the specialist technical commission is included in the documents. The procedure to obtain the authorizations started about three years ago and in the meantime Eni Rewind took over and acquired the system from the Nico company which had activated the procedure. The project, it was believed, did not need to be subjected to an environmental impact assessment and there was a favorable opinion for the Vinca procedure. The planned intervention concerns a system already in operation on the Eni site, with a module present on island 9. A favorable opinion was issued by the specialist technical commission. A second module will thus be inserted. “The objective of the project is the emptying of the 925 S08 decanter and the tank farm attached to the plant, in disuse, for the production of phosphoric acid owned by Isaf Spa in liquidation, at island 9 of the refinery plant, and the subsequent neutralization, inertization and stabilization treatment of the residues lying in the decanter and in the now connected tanks”, reported the documentation then submitted to the attention of the environment department. The checks, carried out by the offices, made it possible to give assent to the single authorization measure. The “section A” of the system will be integrated by a “section B”.
