Scooter, here is the new Polini control unit
If you own two types of scooters in particular, i.e. the Vespa, the Piaggio Liberty 50 and the Zip 40 Euro 5 stroke, you can count on the new Polini control unit. The new feature is called ECM, which stands for Engine Control Module. It is not a complete novelty, since it had already been revealed for some time, but the latest version has been updated and improved.
The racing department of the Bergamo company took care of it, and will allow you to have four different engine maps, to be selected based on the level of preparation of the engine itself. In the package that contains it, you will also find two springs, which allow you to push without damaging the valves themselves up to 10,000 rpm, sensational data for scooters. The limiter then intervenes at that speed.
The first mapping is the one defined as original, and does not involve level changes. The second is for preparation, while the third brings the displacement to 80 cc. With it you get maximum performance, up to a maximum speed of around 75 km/hwhile the fourth mapping is designed only for the Zip.
We must remember that this type of mapping is not permitted by the Highway Code, and you can only use it on the circuit. The price is 265.20 euros, to which VAT must also be added.. In any case, this is a super deal that true enthusiasts certainly won’t want to miss.
