The official news has arrived in Formula 1: the driver has made a decision about his future and reached an agreement with the team, the details.
There is a lot of change in the air in Formula 1 ahead of next season. The feeling of a revolutionary era was already felt with the signing of Lewis Hamilton with the Ferrari, a transfer that left Carlos Sainz without a team.
Mercedes who, without Hamilton, still has to choose the replacement for the British driver. Choices made, instead, at Red Bull which has been renewed for two years with Sergio Perez, who will continue to work alongside Verstappen.
For the McLaren there will be no changes with the confirmation of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Fresh news is the renewal of Pierre Gasly with Alpine, while Esteban Ocon will leave the Scuderia. Yuki Tsunoda confirmed at Racing Bulls but it is not clear who will join him with Ricciardo leaving. The same doubt assails Sauber, which for now is only certain of the arrival of Nico Hulkenberg and Williams, looking for someone to complete the team already composed by Alex Albon. Both are aiming to Carlos Sainz.
F1, now it’s official: the driver has signed for two years
The one who fixed the driver line up is Aston Martin. Last April, in fact, Fernando Alonso has signed a new contract until 2026. The confirmation of his teammate also arrived just before the Austrian GP, namely Lance Stroll.
The Canadian driver, son of Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll, has multi-year agreement signed starting from 2025. A choice that finds the driver satisfied, as can be seen from the announcement released through the official Aston Martin website.
Lance Stroll has been part of the Scuderia for five years. These are his words after the renewal: “We have come a long way and grown a lot as a team and there is still so much to look forward to. We are on an incredible journey and I am fortunate to have so many amazing people around me”.
