Of course, the role of Innocenti, the captain, was very important, who with his experience acted as a bit of a mother hen to his teammates and drove the team, but all the boys proved to be up to the task.” The head of the youth sector is the spokesperson for the feelings of the red and blue team. “Certainly for us it is a historic achievement, but which comes from a long time ago, when we started to lay the foundations of the team in the younger categories. The promotion objective was achieved thanks to a high level performance, considering that our players have won their last nine matches.”
“The nursery has grown”
“The field – explains Sabatino – proved us right. FC Cinisello attracts young footballers both in our city and in the area, in the nearby municipalities. Even the younger guys grew up competing.” The team’s philosophy is for a competitive activity, but at the same time inclusive because everyone must have the opportunity to get on the field and have fun, starting from the little ones: “We have gone from 14 to 22 categories in a few years and today around our activities gravitate around 400 players. In other words: we have grown.” “Furthermore – adds Sabatino – let’s not forget that the boys in the Under 17 category won the regional championship. In addition to the first team there are also the younger boys who have already demonstrated all their value.” Finally, a thought goes to Antonio Rado, president of FC Cinisello 1945 for over twenty years, very proud of his team’s promotion.
