Prime Minister Meloni chose the gifts for the Heads of State: bags, cufflinks and ties

Traditional Apulian products such as burrata, Polignano carrots, turnips, broad beans, barattieri. And also regional wines, coffee and amaro.

Rumors have been published in the local press about the menu of the inaugural gala dinner of the G7, which will be held on 13 June in the castle of Brindisi. What is certain is that the kitchen was entrusted to chef Vincenzo Elia of Tenuta Moreno, an important accommodation facility in Mesagne, on the road to Latiano.

Elia, who has been at Tenuta Moreno for over 20 years, has experience in Italy and abroad, especially in London. Therefore it will try to use the typical ingredients of Apulian cuisine with a slight international push, to meet the palates of all guests: the seven heads of government plus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Layen and the President of the European Council Charles Michel.

The menu will mainly consist of fresh fish and vegetables. Pasta or risotto will not be missing, as will taralli, Gallipoli purple prawns and other zero kilometer products.

In the glasses we will toast with red and rosé primitivo and a vermentino, all from a local company. Even the coffee and artichoke bitters will be Brindisi.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, has chosen the gifts to be delivered to the Heads of State and delegations. For women, a leather bag, for men, silver cufflinks and the Talarico tie for delegations, made in only three examples per design, with “X” stitching.
