Everything is ready for the second edition of the Trapani Film Festival, a celebration of cinema born from the collaboration between Italy and America, thanks to 3 Points Productions and the artistic directors Francesco Torre and Michael Carlo Allen. After last year’s success, in which the Festival grew from evening to evening, capturing the attention of the public inside the jewel of Casina delle Palme, close to the sea, we return to the same place with some new features, films and many guests.
The 2024 edition of the Trapani Film Festival – #TFF will take place from 20 to 23 June with the patronage and co-production of the Municipality of Trapani led by the mayor Giacomo Tranchida who strongly believed in laying the “first stone” of the Film Festival together to the Councilor for Culture, Rosalia d’Alì. First ‘new entry’ on the 20th: a space at the Trapani OFF Film Festival dedicated to film productions promoted in high schools, universities and film academies.
“The aim of the festival is to become, over the course of the various editions, a center for meeting and discussion between artists and producers on the national and international scene, a place where new collaborations can arise”, say the two artistic directors.
Doing the honors will be godmother Ester Pantano, face of the TV series Màkari also in the cast of Paolo Genovese’s TV series ‘I Leoni di Sicilia’. These are the official guests of the second edition: Domenico Centamore (Màkari, La Matassa), Raffaele Vannoli (Ferie d’Agosto, L’odore della notte, etc.), Vincenzo Crivello (Il capo dei capi, Sicilian Ghost Story, etc.) , Orio Scaduto (The mafia only kills in the summer, Baarìa, etc.), Chiara Vinci (Story of a respectable family, Moments of negligible happiness, etc.), Alessio Piazza (The Young Montalbano, Baarìa, etc.), Fabrizio Ferracane (The Bad Guy, Il Paradiso delle Signore, etc.), last year’s winners Matranga & Minafò (Ciurè, Gli Attassati, etc.), Beatrice Fazi (A doctor in the family, The truth I’ll explain about love, etc. .), Angela Curri (Braccialetti Rossi 2, Artemisia Gentileschi, etc.), Michele La Ginestra (Immaturi, Viva l’Italia, etc.), Manuela Ventura (Primadonna, Rocco Chinnici, etc.) and many other interventions.

Numerous nominations of the films competing on the site https://filmfreeway.com/TrapaniFILMFest evaluated by directors, critics, artists and members of the Municipality of Trapani. In a few days we will know the finalists competing in their respective categories: Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary over 30′ and Best Documentary under 30′. There will also be special prizes that the Municipality of Trapani will award to the most deserving artistic works.
During the event from 20 to 23 June, the competing films will be evaluated and voted by a jury of industry technicians, directors, actors, journalists and film critics. They are joined by Gianpiero Pumo, winner of the first edition of the TFF with the feature film “Ciurè”. Prize: each category winner will be awarded a distributed prize consisting of premium access to the new on-demand streaming platform “WeBeam.it”.
