Official presentation, Friday 7 June at the ‘Metelli’ art high school in Terni, for the wall painting inspired by water and nature, created by the students of the 4th ‘figurative arts’ course, aimed at redeveloping the wall adjacent to the entrance of the school overlooking via Sabotino. Present were the school director Roberta Bambini, the director of the regional school office – Terni headquarters, Gilda Giancipoli, the municipal school councilor Viviana Altamura, Tiziana De Angelis representing the provincial administration and Orietta Tribolati of Confapi.

The ‘artistic’ redevelopment operation was conducted with the tutoring of Professor Diana Robustelli, as part of the ESC 30 project entitled ‘Art d’ECO’, launched last school year on the proposal of Confapi. The objective is to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of recovering degraded places and public spaces, using their ideas for the implementation of a platform created by students of La Sapienza University of Rome.

At the end of the project, the students each presented a powerpoint at the BCT and, in the presence of the president of Legambiente Umbria Maurizio Zara and Leonardo Carloni of Asm Terni Spa, first place among the Terni schools was awarded to a group of the 4th A class of the ‘Metelli’. The most interesting projects were then included in the online platform http://www.confapipmiumbria.it/2023/05/17/progetto-esc-30-denominato-art-deco/.

Regarding the restyling of the school wall, Confapi supported the costs for the colors and the Province of Terni, once the project was approved, assisted the undertaking by consolidating the plaster in some parts and whitewashing previous graffiti. The sketch was selected among those developed in the previous school year, with the help of the artist Giulia Ceccarani who has several urban redevelopment interventions under her belt in the city of Terni, some of which were conducted together with the art high school such as the mural of laboratory at Chaos.
