Healthcare in lower Molise: the interview with doctor Quintino Desiderio
TERMOLI. Healthcare of lower Molise at the center of yesterday’s meeting, in the conference room of the Meridiano hotel: “The commitment of the institutions – Proposals and plans”. Moderator of the event Maria Morena Suaria. Michele Marone, regional commissioner of the League (as well as regional councilor), opened the proceedings. Marone in his speech also highlighted that “the commitment of all the representatives of the League in Molise is to work at every institutional level, so that healthcare in Molise can be brought back to the efficiency levels achieved in the past and that the Molise population deserves and has now been waiting too long due to the inertia of past politics.
The new Roberti Regional Council, since it took office, has announced several competitions for posts as head doctor for the San Timoteo hospital, three are already in service in Termoli, it is necessary to continue and hire more nurses and also social and health workers. We need healthcare in Molise. President Roberti is working with the various Ministries in order to restore the conditions for a recovery of healthcare throughout the Region.”
«In this electoral campaign which will be voted on 8 and 9 June, sees the participation of the candidates of the League for the renewal of the municipal administration of Termoli with the candidate for mayor Balice and for the election for the renewal of the members of the European Parliament, it is important to vote for the candidates from the Lega list, such as our candidate Aldo Patriciello, to defend, with his experience, our regional interests and to restore our identity and our representation at a European level, to defend the products of our Made in Italy, symbol of high quality but above all Italian products of guaranteed healthiness, this is a commitment that saw Lega, already in the last legislature, fight really hard. Salvini will soon remove the limited number of students in medicine.” Dr. Quintino Desiderio, candidate of the League for the position of City Councilor of Termoli with Balice as Mayor, then spoke, stating that “Molise must first of all have a Level II Goddess, like the other regional realities even smaller than ours such as the Valle d’Aosta or the Autonomous Province of Trento. The Molise Healthcare system is paying the costs of a bad policy, which over the years has ended up destroying our Healthcare system.
Furthermore, Decree 70, better known as the Balduzzi decree, also established the right things but in some cases it is subjected to important modifications, already in the State Regions Conference, such as those requested by the Umbria region or as Basilicata strongly fought which did not reach the population of 600,000 inhabitants requested an apostille referring to the number established per inhabitants (+ or – 10%) thus obtaining the Level II DEA. The President of the Molise region did not participate in that meeting. Termoli and Lower Molise must have their own hospital because we who live in this area of the region are not medically handicapped. Increase spending on specialist services because today only 5% of the funds are allocated to the Termoli hospital. Healthcare is a need for everyone, we must make structures attractive, not only with new equipment, healthcare must be built around man. My commitment in politics, as a doctor with almost fifty years of experience, which I want to bring to everyone’s attention is that considering that healthcare will become increasingly competitive and for this reason it must work otherwise citizens will turn elsewhere and Molise risks remain without healthcare.” The mayoral candidate Balice, in greeting all those present, wanted to underline in his speech that the San Timoteo hospital represents an absolute priority for the political agenda of the entire coalition and therefore this vote is important to create an even greater synergy with all the Institutions.
