Bus runs during infrastructure works from 16 June to 8 September. The news concerns the Perugia Sant’Anna-Città di Castello line and Trenitalia is announcing it.

The infrastructural and technological upgrading works are starting “which will lead to an improvement in the regularity of circulation and the quality of service for passengers. There will be a bus service whose travel times will be equivalent to those by train.”

«On the entire route – explains Trenitalia – normally open to railway operations (Perugia Sant’Anna – Perugia Ponte San Giovanni – Città di Castello) mobility will be ensured with bus routes which will normally maintain the departure times of the connections from the station of origin. Overall there will be 21 bus trips on weekdays and 10 on holidays.

On the remaining part of the line (Perugia Ponte San Giovanni – Terni) 18 trips per day are confirmed on weekdays and 8 on holidays. In total, 39 buses are active on the entire line per day on weekdays and 18 on holidays. The timetable changes will maintain the possibility of interchange between the Ifru line (Umbrian Regional Railway Infrastructure) and the national line in the Perugia Ponte San Giovanni node. Despite the (summer) timetable change, in force from 9 June, the trains on the Perugia Sant’Anna – Città di Castello line will continue to circulate until 15 June with a winter timetable which includes 31 trains on weekdays and 11 on holidays.

More information is available on www.trenitalia.com (mobility info section, on the works and changes to the service page) and via smart caring on the Trenitalia App. The assistance and ticket office staff will provide support to customers in the main stations affected by the timetable changes and on board the Umbrian trains.
