“Estate in Messina 2024#unseadivertimento” is the program of events promoted by the municipal administration, presented this morning in the Flag Hall of Palazzo Zanca.
Over 100 events
“A program full of initiatives – says the mayor Federico Basile -. 2023 was an important year and in 2024 we decided to implement the events, expanding the meeting spaces throughout the city. If last year we focused on Duomo and Capo Peloro, this year we also have Villa Dante available and also private organizations such as Indiegeno Fest, Horcynus Orca or the Coral Garden where, for example, we will be able to see the European football championships. Messina city of music and events is not just a slogan. The novelty is the network created with the 6 important concerts at the Franco Scoglio stadium, with other events of all kinds, including sporting ones. We have beach soccer, beach volleyball, Messina August. There will be the Indiegeno Festival where Loredana Bertè will also be there. There are over 100 events of various kinds to make it clear that you need to stay in Messina.”
Councilor Massimo Finocchiaro also recalls “the Rds summer festival, with its music and its village, there will be at least 12 artists on stage. At Villa Dante dancing evenings, dance competitions, something open even to the less young, to respond to the many requests received. From July 1st to 15th there are question marks in the manifesto because, we can’t announce it today, but there will be a stratospheric, global, super boom, non-musical event. Then there is the Indiegeno, which will also stop in some city venues to involve as many places as possible. Then on August 22nd there will be Alfa, on August 11th the Holi Fest but we will also have another big event, while on August 31st Gigi D’Alessio will be at Capo Peloro”.
Costs
“The investment is 200 thousand euros, with 70% poc funds – says Finocchiaro -. For the concerts in Capo Peloro there will be price-controlled tickets to attract as many people and tourists as possible.”
